please don't confuse Ganesha with elephant!! Shiva only replaced his son Ganesha severed head with an elephant head..as that what he found first after killing him...etc!! not his whole being!! its an elephant headed god.. rest of ikylem explanation is OK..

I think your Guru is right to call bansuri the instrument of God! Krishna, after all, plays the bansuri flute, and He is Supreme. :)

I am sorry to hear the recording is a little fuzzy. Nevertheless, beautiful! My Indian Music class just recently had Sudarshan Siddhaye as a guest. He plays fabulously! The bansuri, as always, exquisite here.
