KISS - Deuce - The Midnight Special 1975

Burt Sugarman's The Midnight Special was a place where famous and beginning bands got to play a song or two, mostly it was pop, disco or a standard rock song... And suddenly there was KISS! Blowing the roof off!!

(Watch Gene's left foot at the start, that had to hurt and to the audience, they almost can't sit still!)

For a promotion appearance for their Dressed To Kill album and tour they performed Deuce, She, Black Diamond and C'mon And Love Me, sadly the latter, was never aired... For some reason Peter started bashing his kit to hell after a few cymbals fell of his drum kit platform at the end of Black Diamond, why he did this was never known for sure, but i bet the rest of the band and their manager was not happy with it seeing it was a brand new drum kit from Pearl, who gave it just for this occasion...

Nowadays it is name recognition. In 75 they had to rock like this to game attention. I started to be a fan in 77 and never saw these. They were the best in the land.... People do not understand what the big deal is with not having Ace and Peter in the line up. Watch these videos and learn.

OMG, I played drums in a band late 70's and we covered this song....we prob looked as goofy as they did, but it was fun times!

@nighthawk793 thats for sure but, by god, he's ONE of the best i assure you! Ace knew wat it took to be in a successful band...bein a team player, and playing what compliments the song, and playing to precision night after night. Ace has one of the best lead guitar vocabularies of all time!!

its pretty good - noisy...and really, Gene is a disappointment. as far as what you would hope to hear from a band with such a great idea and great look! The song instrumentally, was spot on, and the guitars, including bass, were perfectly in tune for the entire song. The whole band played and performed top notch, it really doesn't get any better, but, as always, for me...ACE FREHLEY was the highlight and star of the show!! his Les Paul, his lead breaks and rhythm guitar were flawless
