Eating disorders like anorexia have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness. Katie Couric says parents should send the right message to their children.

  • DONT STARVE YOURSELF. Just eat smart, exercise, be happy and don't give a damn what your parents say about your weight.

  • You are very obviously uneducated on eating disorders, my moms awesome, she supported me through my struggles and helped me get through the other side. Yours dropped you during infancy. Several times.

There's no point trying to reason with a woman-hating, uneducated, inexperienced, troll. Have a good life and try not to screw your kids up too much.

  • What do you call an anorexic with with a yeast infection?

    A quarter pounder with cheese.

  • @mggerz Honestly, my mother tells me that I'm fat and only worthy when I'm skinny. As if my life would improve or people will love me more even though I am normal. I told her what's what. I told her someone out there will love me for who I am. Your father is using you for his own problems. You would sound like a smartass, but ask him why he is not proud of his creation considering he made half of you.

  • My parents should spend 1 minute and 6 seconds of their life watching this video, just so they will finally hear it from someone else. I've had anorexia when I was younger, I have since recovered greatly but I feel now a relapse is threatening. My father constantly makes comments regarding the way I look, my weight in particular and both my mother and father talk nearly endlessly about dieting, working out anc ounting calories. I don't want to tell them, but I know they are mostly to blame...

  • i would sooo do katie couric

  • 1:01 she looks so happy:P

  • listen at 0:30 - 0:40

  • And I mean I'm going to go to therapy and all but opening up to people over and over again is getting old. I hope I can stay with this one. I get tired of telling the whole story.
