A Boromir Sharpe mixup

Here's forty shillings on the drum
For those who'll volunteer to come
To 'list and fight the foe today.
Over the hills and far away.

O'er the hills and o'er the main.
Through Flanders, Portugal and Spain.
King George commands and we obey.
Over the hills and far away.

When duty calls me I must go
To stand and face another foe.
But part of me will always stray
Over the hills and far away.

O'er the hills and o'er the main.
Through Flanders, Portugal and Spain.
King George commands and we obey.
Over the hills and far away.

If I should fall to rise no more,
As many comrades did before,
Then ask the fifes and drums to play.
Over the hills and far away.

Then fall in lads behind the drum,
With colours blazing like the sun.
Along the road to come-what may.
Over the hills and far away.

  • @Rikki0 And the dialogue is great. How do you beat lines like this:

Sharpe: Cooper, let me borrow your picklock.

Cooper: Picklock, sir? Catch me with a picklock?

Harper: They did, Cooper. But after you got out of Newgate Prison you got another one. That's the one the officer wants.

Cooper: I'll get it back won't I, Sir?

    Sharpe: Trust me.

Cooper: It's very hard to trust a man who wants to borrow your picklock, Sir.

    Priceless!

  • A lot of people call Boromir a villain but I diagree he's a victim of the ring the ring corrupts people and it would have corrupted the whole fellowship eventualy.

He was not a villain he showed Merry and Pippin how to fight and he redeemed himself in the end by paying with his life.

  • Is it just me or does the vid have low quaity sound and low Framerate?

  • @Dickkeel mate, i just loved the extended edition. In the normal release, boromir is just a guy who dies and is played by a beloved actor, while in the books he is such an important character. Really, Boromir was so underrated in the movies, just like King Theoden.

  • @SternMann93 lol!

  • Boromir was an hero.

  • @SwordsmanMercenary most definitely. boromir was my favorite character from the first book/movie.

  • @FitzNighteyesFool Just a note there John Tams does sing this in all the times in sharpe :)

  • They didn't need the entire Rohirrm cavalry army to win at Pelennor Fields, just the South Essex and Chosen men!

  • @RailMon There was a time when politicians (well, kings and emperors and such) started their own wars and directed armies in battle personally - of course that diverges a bit from Anglo culture which never really embraced militarism so much as accepted it.

  • "Harris, take down that French rag and put some proper colours up"

  • That was awesome!

Could you please tell me where you got the song from? I know that it's the theme for Sharpe's, but I've been looking on iTunes and can't find it and it's an awesome song!
