Episode 04 takes us on location in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Where the first batches of XOs have been delivered and deployed. Meet the teachers using the laptops in the classroom. Where besides doing daily assignments on the machines, some students have already learned programing. Local culture has permeated the project, and as a veteran school principal explains, an improved education is set to equip a new generation of Brazilian citizens.

  • Yes...12 yr old kids in isolated countries strip on cameras on the first occasion....man...come on...and i think that they can't even watch p0rn on these things (if they don't have a flash player vids won't play!).

  • the computers come with webcams that enable the kids to chat and also allows them to do other things...

  • Yeah....when kids in poor countries get these little computers, their primary objective is P0RN!

    come on....

  • my only concern is for the safety of the kids. I hope the internet is censored. The webcams, hmmmm ? It seems like this machine could be misused.

  • Marcelo Tosatti, Nina Antonioli and all the team of OLPC project are doing a great job.I read articles about the Porto ALegre experience and they are al very positive, this gives children a fntastic opportunity, keep up the good work
