  • Not a reel, these barndance tunes are quite popular in Donegal; Mairead and her father are from Gaoth Daobhair and Ciaran Tourish is from Buncrana.

    Not sure on the name of the first tune, but the second one is Scottish in origin - "Cameron Highlanders"

    These types of tunes are called schottisches in Germany, where the German musicians try to emulate that "scottish" sound, hence the name schottische. In Donegal, the tunes are affectionately referred to simply as Germans.
