It was tough just like i imagine Fitzroys was like in hindsight balmain would have stood alone
if they pushed it as souths did (and all power to souths for doing that) but the real sad story
from the NRL is Nth Sydney Bears who were an original club and were sold up the river by the league and Manly who double crossed them a mighty old club that died in a merger so for balmain and wests fans it could be worse at least we didnt merge with Manly

As an AFL fan Im just curious to find out what it's like for old Balmain fans did you guys jump on the West Tigers after the merger and support them like you supported Balmain or did you just jump off, Cause I know when Fitzroy merged with the Brisbane Bears alot of Fitzroy fans jumped off and just stopped going to the footy altogether.

The Balmain Tigers - the most ill-fated of all sporting entities. Four [4] years in the 1970's alone, the next team outside of the promised land of the semi-finals; always involving a breathtaking last round results screw up. Always getting the sticky end of the pine-apple, Always being turned inside out in the final results analysis. And in 5 other years of the 1970's playing like abject, forsaken losers, sliding backwards whilst tyring to tackle around the ears instead of the legs.
