GSX-R 600 2008 - Removed the stock header and welded cat. Kept the whole thing in one piece with no cutting thanks to the MJS Performance headers with midpipe.

The video and pictures were actually an afterthought so I didn't really prepare for this. Hence the poor stock exhaust example clip (I really didn't want to get it warmed up because I was right about to work on it). Also, only had a couple baby revs at the end for the aftermarket header sound. More clips to come for the real sound.

Not tuned yet. I don't plan on getting a power commander, just a re-map of the stock ECU. More on that later.

  • nice vid! i wonder to how did you map it? with a powercommander or just remapped the bike? and how much did those headers cost? im just thinking of buying a mid pipe and weld it on the oem headers, but if this headers is cheap il go for that :)

  • @ruubern thx man, i haven't remapped it yet. when i do though (prob dec or jan) im gonna have the stock ecu remapped and skip the power commander.

  • ok and how do u do the fuel remapping?, did u get that redlight and the FI on your gauge after instaling the new headers?.

  • @cachorrinapestosin i haven't remapped the bike yet. but yeah i did get that FI light, its because i tied off the valve cables instead of removing them. did you do the same thing?

  • Yours is the one without the exup setup. What do you recommend?

  • dude nice job but what if you do the k7 headers i'm stuck on what to do with my o2 sencer there no holl for it any ideas?

  • did your light come on from cuting the cat cause i have

  • You can disable the EXCVA by removing the black wire with white strip on the black connector on the ECU. Look at the PDF instructions on the yoshimura site and look up full systems for the 08 gsxr 600/750. This should keep that light off. Hope this helps

  • I forgot to say I install a yoshi TRC Ti the only thing I don´t know is what would happen if I leave my o2 sensor removed & unplugged any adivices anyone??

  • OK, this what i just did, Remove the headers, removed the o2 sensor, remoe the cables of the EXCVA from the headers and the Valve S.motor, plug it back in, I did deactive the motor by removing the cable from the ECU so the light would not come, but I do not know if i need to reinstall the o2 sensor of what could happer if I don´t, on the other hand the fuel remapping can be done by a Dyno or just a cheap ECU with pre progammed maps, not sure if if works the same but U´l get it soon.

  • ah ok, i think il just remap the ecu to ;) hope you can make a vid without db :P the headers is without set valve to? i got yoshi r-55 slip on =) cant wait to do this on my bike, i want a higher and deeper sound :P sweet daughter ^^
