Interracial couple denied marriage license

Keith Bardwell, justice of the peace in Tangipahoa Parish Louisiana refused to issue a marriage license to an interracial couple out of concern for any children the couple might have. Who does this guy think he is?

As far as religion no.. Everyone has a right to their own religion and I have had friends with different beliefs. I am not christian nor atheist, but I lean more toward atheism. Thats just it, I learn and many people learned about other cultures or races and thats when its determined that some are more inferior than others. Trust me on this.

you pronounced it pretty well : ), anyway, I say they should just move on. yeah the guy was a douche, but he did not have them arrested or threaten them for wanting to get married. They found another justice of peace in the state, so I say forget about him. Screw him. I live in Louisiana (a good three hours west of Tangipahoa Parish), and where I'm at, I guess some ppl are prejudiced, however, most IR couples can come here w/o much trouble.
