Residents lined up early Tuesday morning outside Miller Recreation Center on Bank Street to vote, the chief poll judge said.
The lines might show that minorities are taking a big interest in this election.
The West Ward III site, which is in the mostly black West End community of Salisbury, saw about 200 voters by 2 p.m. or so, said Rosalind Mitchell, the chief poll judge.
Some voters there said they decided to vote because they want to see change in America. Many said Barack Obama was their choice for bringing about change.
