Six years ago, Eunice Baker, a borderline retarded woman, was left babysitting a three year old girl. A wire in the house short-circuited leading to the temperature in the child's room soaring. The girl died of heat exhaustion. But despite clear evidence the death was accidental, Eunice was arrested for pre-mediated murder. This personal and compelling film follows her trial. It's a case that raises fundamental questions about the treatment of mentally handicapped people in the US legal system.

this isn't about borderline personality disorder- it's about a "borderline retarded" woman. In other words, on the verge of full mental retardation, but still able to care for herself to some degree and probably functioning on a 12 yr old level.

My mother has borderline and she has 2 children but also raised.

With a little help that best. She might not have a normal mother but that does not mean they are not good or that they can not handle.

Not all are the same borderline, the one is very strong and the other is very weak.

Borderline people are only human! You can compare it to someone who has autism .. a slightly different reason but you can learn to deal with.

@jaimykeuu Look I'm not trying to insult anyone here or anything. Borderline retarded means that you still do not have the intellect of an average person, correct? I'm not trying to be insulting or anything but I'm just saying... You don't leave your kid with someone who isn't capable of taking care of them despite how you love them.

If you do not know what is borderline it is best to keep your mouth shut. it does not mean you're stupid. My mom has it and with other children said very nice or sweet. You judge too quickly.
