Dan was so sweet and agreed to come hang out with Hill 1 after cabins in on his last night at the URJ Kutz Camp. :)
He sang with us and talked to us.
This video is of Dan telling us how he wrote his "Hashkiveinu" at Kutz in '99 and then all of us singing together.
It's BEAUTIFUL!

  • I meet him and he will always remember my name because he spelt it wrong and i corrected him i know its stupid but it worked he knows my name

  • It's funny that you say that... Dan is freakishly good at remembering who people are. That little clue helps him remember!

  • Dan came to my summer camp three years in a row. I didn't see him for the full year, but each time he remembered me. Then this last year I jammed with him, me on drums. It was so much fun. I love that guy.

  • Very cool! Which camp?

  • i just got back from kutz this summer and i had the most amazing summer of my life.

    and i stayed in Hill 1. :)

  • Awh...Yay!!!!

I'm so glad you had a great time. Kutz is a wonderful place!

It's funny that you also stayed in Hill 1!

  • *waves at Mallory*

  • Our Pastor grew up in a Reform background, and thus once in a while we use his songs (especially for the Holiday's [we use your version of the Shehechianu]). I came from an Orthodox background and thus was unaware of a musical rendition of certain liturgical pieces. I must say, Dan hashem has blessed you. By the way this is one of my favourites in the Siddur, as well as when we sing it in Church at a Shabbat service (we even sung this song at a Pentecostal church and they loved it).

  • I miss America so much and I miss camp so much. CAMP HARLAM 2010!!!
