4:20PM-
Right at 4:20, an IHB transfer appears with one of two of their SD38-2s leading.
IHB SD38-2 #3861

4:33PM-
More IHB traffic hits the mainline. A transfer from the North passes through the junction.
IHB GP40-2 #4019

4:49PM-
An Executive Mac was put second out on this trackage rights coal train on the CSX.
BNSF ES44AC #5986
BNSF SD70MAC #9808

4:45PM-
The rain hasn't fallen yet as an intermodal to the CSX overtakes the coal drag.
CSXT ES44DC #5441
CSXT ES44DC #5270

5:17PM-
The rain begins to fall over Blue Island as some CSX light power goes by.
CSXT AC4400CW #565
CSXT AC4400CW #263

5:53PM-
CN #5706's P5 blasts in the rain as it leads a manifest North on the connector then stops.
CN SD75I #5706
CN C44-9W #2645

5:57PM-
Of course when it stops, it blocks out an IHB job with a caboose.
IHB SW1200 #1503

6:00PM-
Another IHB job follows being one of the more rarer ones I've seen. Two old EMDs lead a Dash-9 on a transfer most likely out of Corwith.
IHB SD20 #2924
IHB GP40-2 #4010
BNSF C44-9W #4102

6:53PM-
The rain subsides, just in time for the IAIS BICB freight.
IAIS ES44AC #506
IAIS GP38-2 #714

7:05PM-
I hear another horn to the East on The Rock, and sure enough, a pair of Geeps roll across the bridge, ready to work the evening BISW job.
IAIS GP38-2 #712
IAIS GP38-2 #701

7:11PM-
The light power has since switched onto the connector line, this time with #701 in the lead.

7:35PM-
The power disappears across the river for a bit, the reappears on the IHB, headed for the yard to do some switching.

7:39PM-
Traffic has obviously been picking up on the old GTW lately as yet another train shows up. General CN power leads an intermodal up the connector line.
CN SD75I #5636
CN SD75I #5721

8:00PM-
A run through Land Barge ends this evening.
CN C44-9W #2670
CN SD75I #5699
UP AC4400CW #5683

  • Nice catches. I hope to come here some day

  • The first 2 IHB trains both had great horns. Although, it seems all the IHB and IAIS trains in your videos do. The first one reminds me of the time I taped a First Coast railway local in Kingsland, GA. It had probably the worst sounding horn I've ever heard, and yet, it was one of the best. I'll try to post that video sometime.

  • 4:59 :Look at us geeps go backwards!

  • 420 is a very good time of day and a very good day of year, and on that 420 time of day of the 20th day of the 4th month its is an even better time
