You may be wondering what "D2GL" might stand for, and I'll just have to spell it out for you - Doom 2 Gaming League. It's going to be my very own Doom 2 League (obviously) and will consist of various gametypes which are chosen each season. The first season is going to be a 1v1 match with (depending on how many signups and when I decide to go live) hopefully at least 20 or so players, as I'd like to stream some of the matches live! But here is a preview of 2 of the maps out of the 12 I'll be having for Season 1, the first is Crossfire, and open, fast moving map, and the second is Claustrophobius, a tight, close-quarters-combat styled prison map, made for hectic, fast paced 1v1. An estimated time of arrival for the league is truly unknown, it all depends on when I get time for everything, but I'm really hoping to get it up and running soon, I already have the entire website script tested, skinned, and ready to roll, but I need to find the time and perhaps some people who would like to be moderators and help me out with running this thing!

  • @GuitarDeity Haha thank you so much! But the best thing is, I'm not keeping this to myself, I want people to be able to learn how to make maps as good as and better than this, that's why I'm going to keep releasing tutorials :) If you saw my series on adding detail, I may be making another miniseries about adding even more detail, to really drive home how to make some seriously awesome looking maps.

    You should make a tutorial talking about making deathmatch maps and whatnot, and how they should be rounded out and made so all areas can be accessed from multiple directions, to prevent camping. You could also talk about weapon placement, adding themes to the level, keeping design consistent, etc.

    That would be a damn good tutorial IMO :P

  • @JaundiceJaun I'm making alot of maps myself, I quite enjoy the 3D floor effect.

    Right now I'm working on a Deathmatch map aswell which isn't far from finnishing :P

  • @EvilWeavaloid Yeah, I'm pretty much a fan of anything used in Doom maps, whether is be colored sectors, fog, 3d floors, k2 bridges, damn near anything, because all of them can be used in a way to create a different effect, for example if I wanted to make a stone bridge, I would use the 3d floor option, but if I wanted to actually have that bridge appearance I'd use the original 3d bridge effect, my mapping style is ALL styles :P Once I make some more maps for this wad, you'll see haha.
