Was in Austin from 81 to 89. A very special time. The music was great and accessible for student like me, the town was still small enough to get out of if you wanted. Felt fortunate to be there.

My two cents: I was lucky enuff to play on several bills w/Keith when he was with Tailgators, was his neighbor in South Austin in 80's/90's, and one of his many voluntary chauffeurs. Keith did not leave the T-Birds, he got the boot. He had framed royalty checks for less than a dollar on his wall, just total b.s. like that. He had nothing but love for Don Leady and Mike Buck. His last words to me, "Keep the vultures away from my mother." Miss you every day, El Mero Guero, con safos hermano

I am fairly certain that this is Billy Bremner on guitar (not the Leeds centerback) the T-birds were on tour with Rockpile at the time, and Jimmy Vaughan had broken his leg. As good as Billy was, it just goes to show that you can't p*ss around with a bands chemistry....never thought the T-Birds were quite the same after Keith left.
