thats cool and all, but it takes waay to long, i would have done with it and waiting to paint it ...way to many moves and cuts involved ...but inventive ...would i do it NO...my method is a fraction of the time...thanks 4 the video though...

Thanks, your method worked very well for me.

hi phillydrywaller... do u recommend the bear claw on a 12in x 12in between studs square holes? ( the previous owners had some kind of wall safe for guns i think), they are all over about 7 of them.. I can appreciate ur comments... btw, great video and instructions.

ok i put 4 holes in walls in my house hwo much does all the materials cost (just the size of my fist each hole..)
-
That was a great vid. I've never left paper over the edge. I've always used paper tape -- initially scoring on the good side.. Thanks for the great tip.

you da man doo.!

I use the exact same angletool at my job. ^^

that interesting .what if the wall is concrete?
-
This is a great technique. Thx

I know u suppose to do that but leaving more paper around the patch seals it better.
If you have a hole that is roughly the size of a human head, you can put up a lone frame around the hole and just tell your friends and family that it's an artistic piece you've created yourself.

Hey philly, I have a slight problem. I have a medium sized hole in my front room, and a small hole in an line shape(it goes like straight up and down) in my room. Would buying a dry wall repair kit from Wal-mart be enough to fix it? Or do I need something more?

Hey Gregar, Sorry I didnt get back sooner. The front room hole I would patch with a kit. the long in a line shape hole I would tape. you might have to buy joint compound, and tape for the long one.

That's cool but the paper is not much of a support for the repair piece.

No its not,but if you watch the second part of this video you will see how I solve that problem by putting (buttering) compound on the sides of the patch where rock meets rock once that sets-up it acts as a mortar and stiffens the patch. most carpenters don't notice or think about what you just did and the patch is not installed properly, and will wind up with a bubble or just a bad spot on the wall.
