@bottomfeeder73 Giving dogs chocolate from time to time in small doses is not always lethal. The size of the dog also needs to be taken into account, larger dogs can handle more, smaller dogs less. But if the dog ingests a large quantity, especially of dark chocolate, which is worse then milk chocolate, that dog can and probably will die if not given immediate aid. Chocolate affects a dog's metabolism and causes dehydration, and can cause heart problems as well.

When affected by an overdose of chocolate, a dog can become excited and hyperactive. Due to the diuretic effect, it may pass large volumes of urine and it will be unusually thirsty. Vomiting and diarrhoea are also common. The effect of theobromine on the heart is the most dangerous effect. Theobromine will either increase the dog’s heart rate or may cause the heart to beat irregularly. Death is quite possible, especially with exercise.

@bottomfeeder73 Sorry if I don't exactly know what this argument is about and you were being sarcastic but, people food is actually very good for Dogs... Just saying.
-
@cosmincos Yeah, and I bet you know plenty of people dying from chocolate poisoning. Gee whiz!!!
-
@cosmincos I must be an idiot because I have seen countless, healthy dogs eat some chocolate from time to time? Well you must be a douche bag that feeds his or her dog shitty dog food because "human food" is bad for them. Stupid!!!
Oh, and by the way, chocolate is not bad for people or dogs, you fool. The cacao beans that it is made from is extremely beneficial for health. Do some research before running your big pole smoking mouth!!!

@bottomfeeder73 What are you some kind of idiot?
Chocolate is poison to dogs. Why would you try to argue against that and make people harm their dogs. What, do you think there's some sort of conspiracy to keep dogs from enjoying delicious chocolate?
Chocolate is poisonous to humans in pretty much the same way it is to dogs. But due to differences in how fast it is metabolized, it's much easier for a dog to get a lethal dose.
Your friends are ignorant pricks and so are you.

@bottomfeeder73 little amounts of like milk chocolate won't do them harm, but if they eat a lot of really dark chocolate it really will kill them.
-
That dog and chocolate thing is absolute bullshit. I know different people who feed their dog chocolate from time to time and nothing. Happy healthy dogs. Dog food is not fit for dogs.
