This is very cool !

I think so.

@laolichen Does he or any of his students still teach?

My understand of the style and from what I have gained from my teacher, is that it is used mainly as a self-defense style. Most of the movements are defense or evasive and are used to confuse your enemy. The duck style doesnt have too many offense movements, and is similar to taiji in that you are usually redirecting your opponents energy. Lots of the movements are specificially just to confuse your opponent.

I have sought out the disciple of Zhoumingde (the first guy in this video), and I am currently training duck fist with her. She says there are only 3 living disciples of Zhoumingde, and she was his first disciple. The reason for the repeated movements is to practice them. There are only 12 different movements in the entire style, and are all encompassed in one form. There are infinite variations of each movement, and are usually trained individually, without the form.

This duck is a disgrace to chinese kung fu!!!!

interesting, the last part seems similar with yi chuan. thanx for sharing!

umh......Tai Chi is Kung Fu!!!

I'm not used to 'wasted' movements in the forms. For example, the first form has repeated movements, apparently showing the same application 4x or so per line he walks; the 2nd has the flapping wings movement more times than one would imagine necessary to grasp the technique, and the same could be said for the ducked spearing motion with the hands between the knees.
Its just really, really odd. I would love to see it applied, just to equate it back to these strange forms.

I see a lot of the applications in the movements. My style of kungfu has a lot of these duck movements mixed in with it.
This is the best viedo clip I have ever seen here. The first person who is Mr.Zhou ming de form north east of China is the best in Ya Quan.He is over ninety now.
