in my experiance the working class despise communism and for good reason. communism creates just two classes - a small elite on the inside telling everybody how to act and think and then a mass of proles on the outside obeying without question, at least with capitalism there are more class layers to manoeuvre within. capitalism may make slaves of us but communism seeks to make us mere robots.

plus communism in the u.k killed off our industrial base. how exactly did that help the 'workers'?

@mattb82 people In Russia turned to Communism due to years of oppression, they needed improvement equality quickly, urgently and communism was a form of government that promised radical change. What my problem is, is that people who are massive islamophobes big time, I stress the word massive and try and unite in a nationalistic manner but not realize and think Communism is much more peaceful and non aggressive unlike heir Kommendant Griffin.

@mattb82 We live in a society where people care more about bloody Cheryl Cole and other pretentious crap so we are distracted form the real issue on paper economically things are not going well, due to the consumerist nature of society we live in a system where people are distracted form the real problems, we live in a system where nothing is taken seriously and where communism or socialism is not possible and so people do not stand up. However Communism does need really bad situation economicly

@nounever racism is easier to comprehend than communism. Easier to point at 'johnny foreigner' who has a job when you don't, rather than the rich industrialist in the high rise building. Class politics is how you overcome that, but I'm sad to say, its severely lacking in Britain today
