  • Dear James,

Thank you so much for your kind words. I have listened to your fine playing, and I know that we both make music with honesty. It is great to communicate with a wonderful flutist like you! Thanks for taking the time for writing. Erich

  • Thank you for your kind reply, Phil. I have the greatest respect for M. Rampal and am honored to be compared to him--even in a backhanded way. That being said, I am sensitive to accusations of plagiarism! Best, Erich G

  • Dear Mr. mydawgsbeast81,

For those who didn't see your comment that was removed, here it is:

mydawgsbeast81 has made a comment on Bach E-flat Major Flute Sonata; Siciliano:

ok maybe its not him. I listened to the recording and it isnt the same.

I would be glad to provide you with a CD of the live recital that contained this performance. This accusation of plagiarism is very serious and I resent it.

    Erich Graf

  • i am in love with this :) i wanna play the flute now LOL

  • such a beautiful movement! Im learning how to play this piece by ear because i cannot afford to pay for lessons on top of tuition at school, and this was beautifully done. Absolutely love it!

  • Dear Mr. Graf,

I studied with Mr. Rampal in Paris, as I can say, its not him, but you play with a great sensibility, and as we can say you have " french school sound" , its really very good musical teast and musicality, Mr. mydawgsbeast81 its very very wrong and maybe sharing his deafness with millions of people here on youtube was not the molst clever thing hi did on his all life.

    All the best,

    James Strauss

  • I would also add that I have studied with Mr. Graf in the past, and I can say that this is a live performance, and this is his playing. It sounds wonderful!

  • This is a beautiful recital. Don't know why someone would have a reason to make a comment like that, but one thing is for sure & it is positive, they have just compared you with Rampal! Now thats a compliment. Beautiful colour in your tone, thanks for posting.

    Regards,

    Philip
