The Art of War is an ancient Chinese military treatise that is attributed to Sun Tzu (also referred to as "Sunzi" and "Sun Wu"), a high ranking military general and strategist during the late Spring and Autumn period (some scholars believe that the Art of War was not completed until the subsequent Warring States period). Composed of 13 chapters, each of which is devoted to one aspect of warfare, it is said to be the definitive work on military strategies and tactics of its time, and is still read for its military insights.
The Art of War is one of the oldest and most successful books on military strategy in the world. It has been the most famous and influential of China's Seven Military Classics: "for the last two thousand years it remained the most important military treatise in Asia, where even the common people knew it by name." It has had an influence on Eastern military thinking, business tactics, and beyond.

They might have warriors and good generals, but their hands are tied by their Political masters and economy so if you think Sun Tzu way, USA conducts war in very old fashion actually WW2 or Vietnam fashion way, even though with all the modern technology and weapons. Also one of US biggest fails is to deceive their own US people instead of the enemy by making these lies about terrorists & WMDs in Iraq and the importance of war on terror in Afghanistan. This encourages the enemy instead.

LOL. That is so true. But it's too late for the US to realise this now. The Iraqi and Afghan resistance have defeated the US military. Their aim was to bleed to US. The result - financial and economical collapse of the US. This will lead to breakup of US and the total dismantlement of its armed forces (yet to come). US are not known as warriors and they have no real generals, just clowns. They think they can win a war by bombing the hell out of the country.

The vietnamese would've lost the war had america staid in longer, but since they were seething with national morale and had destroyed that americans morale and americas internal conflicts they won.

People often forget that even military philosophies differ. Eastern countries(contrary to popular belief) belief in manpower. Europeans believe in territory and Americans believe in supplies.

@Nuthy05 Not just casualties but trillions of dollars. TRILLIONS!!, for what to kill a few terrorists in a country that runs on militia... while America could have put hundreds of billions into home security and spent the trillions on debt repayment, they made a mess of themselves and Iraq (alone)

I agree with sun su stragdies. World War 2 they could have turn some of the German soldiers against there leaders. I believe that Field Marshell Rommel was assassinated because he wanted to make a deal with the allies. He new that the allies had plenty of resoursed and they could not beat the US. The US fight might was just getting warmed up .Germany had been getting ready for war sence 1933.
