WHERE THE BLUE OF THE NIGHT (MEETS THE GOLD OF THE DAY) A SONG FROM 1931 WRITTEN BY ROY TURK, BING CROSBY AND FRED ALHERT. OUR MANDOLIN/PIANO VERSION.

WHERE THE BLUE OF THE NIGHT
(MEETS THE GOLD OF THE DAY)

verse
WHY MUST I LIVE IN DREAMS
OF THE DAYS I USED TO KNOW?
WHY CAN'T I FIND REAL PIECE OF MIND
AND GO BACK TO LONG AGO?

chorus
WHERE THE BLUE OF THE NIGHT
MEETS THE GOLD OF THE DAY
SOMEONE WAITS FOR ME.
AND THE GOLD OF HER HAIR
CROWNS THE BLUE OF HER EYES
LIKE A HALO, TENDERLY.
IF ONLY I CLOULD SEE HER
OH, HOW HAPPY I WOULD BE.
WHERE THE BLUE OF THE NIGHT
MEETS THE GOLD OF THE DAY
SOMEONE WAITS FOR ME

  • Nicely played, both of you. Great combination of instruments on this beautiful old standard! Maybe tune the mando a little closer to the piano (or itself)? This would be a good one to waltz to at a dance.
