Part of Team Extreme at Springnats 2011 Mark Schwirse with his blown big block powered Holden ute was an extremely popular addition to the line up this year. He ended up destroying the auto on Sunday but he managed to put on several big smoke shows before then.

  • I see those back rims used on a lot of burnout cars. They look like stockies off a Subaru Forester. Do they serve any advantage over regular stockies at all?

  • @KaneBeutel

I think they're Ford Territory rims. Guys use them to put bigger diameter rubber on sometimes plus there is the advantage of when the tyres go your four-link or ladder bar suspension doesn't hit the ground.

  • what kind of camera are you using

  • @intelinsideTV

Sony HD, this one is just a cheapie after I broke my big Sony PD170 (wind blew tripod over an smashed it). The exact model number is HDR-CX110, great value for money. But it is lacking a bit in features so I'm buying a better one when I save up some dollars.

  • More good work from blownhemi - Merry Christmas mate

Thanks dude, the new camera is working out nicely. Which is pretty cool seeing it cost less than a tenth of the old one. Keep your eyes out for more awesome footage in the new year.

  • I just went down to a car wash this morning in sa to wash my vy ss ute and this beast was on a trailer getting a wash too looks and sounds tough ;)

  • @arctic800mod more strength, the suspension doesnt go out of alignment when alot of power is put through it like leaf springs do, theres more points holding it to the chassis

  • Got Fuel???

  • I realise they use the short diff to fit massive rear tyres on but jeez they look strange with the burnout tyres on the rear. Would like to see some of these cars with the big rubber on the rear and big dished wheels. Not for burnouts of course. The ute in this vid looks like it can fit some serious rubber under there.

  • Love the start! :)

  • NOICE!

  • Isso é um Opala!!!!!

  • @blownhemi When i hear four link suspension i think of pre-runners with about 3 foot or travel in the rear. Why use it in vehicles like this or is it different from the 4 links used in pre-runners?

  • Congratulations with 700 awesome videos :)
