This is my vacuum tube digital clock. It uses NE-2 neon lamps, not the much more common Nixie tubes. Made from a 50 year old Berkeley Beckman counter/EPUT meter. It has 31 vacuum tubes.

  • Uhh... "It uses NE-2 neon lamps, not the much more common Nixie tubes."

NE-2 lamps and their equivalents are MUCH more common than nixies, LOL. Cheaper, too...

    that said, very cool clock.

  • @ossumguywill NE2 lamps are not nearly as common as nixie tubes in tube clocks....

  • @jforb427 Ah, in tube clocks. Got it, I thought you meant purchasability, not usage.

  • That is the most impressive think that I've seen in a long time. I thought that tubes could only be used for sound equipment, well of course besides the rectifier tubes, which can be used as bridge rectifiers.

  • Super jalado, digno de museo y de pasar horas viendolo como tortolito...

    Felicidades por esa gran curiosidad!
