  • Say what ever you want about my playing. I'll put my money where my mouth is. How about you me a Steve Turre meet up in NYC and have a competition? Let's see who can do the most on one shell.

  • Steve and I don't have time for a competition with you... we have gigs. We earn money for playing, you probably don't...

  • i think the best approach to these instruments, like any instrument is maximum beautiful tone quality, i really do... we are trying as shell players to rid them of their "novelty" factor... and the best way to do this is practice practice practice until the tone no longer matches people's perception of what a seashell should sound like.

  • If you can only play one song on the conch you should pick one that uses the shell's best range. Your tone quality is to poor for playing this song. Have you checked out Blacklungsjoe newest videos? they are very musical and his tone quality and intonation are superb!
