++ MUCH INFORMATION ABOUT THE LOCATION AND MORE HERE ++
This is a short one I did on a Sunday's trip to the „Drachenfels", which is a kinda famous rock located at the river Rhine in Königswinter -- not far away from Bonn and a 30-minute ride from my home in Cologne. The piece shows you the marvellous view you have from the Drachenfels, the little train that rides up there and a castle located there, called „Schloß Drachenburg". By the way - „Drachen" is the german word for „Dragon" - Once a Dragon lived on that rock, they say, climbing down once in a while to hunt for some citizen of Königswinter. And according to the famous „Nibelungen"-Saga, their hero Siegfried killed the Dragon up on the Drachenfels, then took a bath in Dragonblood and so became invulnerable.
Besides of this - The "Drachenfels" is the origin of most of the stones the Cologne Cathedral has been built with.
Basically I filmed and edited this clip in order to have a final test for my new camera before taking it with me on holidays. It's the Samsung HMX-H300 and I also tried out the test-version of the editing software Magix Video Deluxe 17 with this piece here.
So for all of you out there, that are interested in this clip because of the camera it's being filmed with: I did not use any tripod, all is filmed by hand (there have been some strong winds during the outside shots). I used OIS and OIS Duo stabilisation but beside of this I always used the auto-mode of the cam. Just optical zoom, no digital one. This vid should be quite good to compare the different light-conditions and how the cam handles them in auto-mode. I filmed while having bright sunlight and cloudy weather, as well as dark rooms inside of the castle.
Final note: Vid has been downsized from 1920px to 1280px because of the filesize. The picture quality in 1920px is much better and it doesn't stutter at all like here on YouTube sometimes.
hey, is the schloss drachenburg open for visits? do u know when?
