My brother and I spent 5 weeks on The Colorado Trail in June & July of 2011. We started in mid-June, knowing that we might face deep snowpack on the Continental Divide. Unfortunately, this was the case, and we had to skip about 80 miles of the trail around Breckenridge. In all, we traveled just under 400 miles in 31 days of hiking.

Can you recommend a guide book for the Colorado Trail?

@fredg3333 - We used the guidebook and databook published by The Colorado Trail Foundation, both were very useful in planning our hike, and planning each day while we were hiking. You definitely should make a trip on the CT if you have the chance, even just for part of it.
