Details:
The animation shows a Mandelbrot fractal starting with an exponent of 40. The exponent is then reduced towards 2, resulting in the famous Mandelbrot shape. However, rather than showing the complete set, this animation focuses on the Seahorse Valley throughout the metamorphosis.

  • I used to make fractal shots on the Atari ST. I have no idea how they work -- I would just copy code from magazine. But they took about 16 hours to generate 320x240 pic with 16 colors.

Now look at this shit, man. TECHNOLOGY AND MATH ARE INSANE.

  • This is almost frightening yet so awesome

  • Oooooh. Actually starts out a bit slow but it starts getting really, really funky after the halfway point. Cool stuff!
