Two male lions killing a buffalo Kruger National Park

We were fortunate to witness these two male lions killing a buffalo on a recent trip to the park. The buffalo took two hours to die...What makes this unusual is that usually a large pride of five or more lions have to work together to successfully kill a large buffalo. Male lions seldom kill on their own preferring the lionesses to do the hard work. These two were utterly exhausted by rhe end.

That's not unusual, these two males were probably part of a male coalition. They would of been kicked out of their pride at maybe 2-3 years old, and would then have formed a coalition with other males, and will eventually take over their own pride one day. Male lions around 190kg, females are around 120, so males are quite a bit stronger, so there is nothing strange about this! Good video. though. :)

@xXLION1990Xx a typical male lion weights from 170 to 220 kg, and the average is about 190 kg. lionesses about 130 kg. the weights you haven given are the weights for tigers. sorry.

The biggest lion killed and measured in the wild nature weighted 316 kg and in zoo there was a lion which weighted 378 kg.

Wikipedia suggests the AVERAGE male lion weighs 181kg and female 126kg. But a male lion has been wiehed at 272 kg before so weight varies.

@saphiraftw, isin´t the male lions average wheight aorund 200 and 250? or atleast that what i have read in books and have heard in some documentals. you cant probably say how heavy they really are as they all eat diffrent in the wild some gets alot of food some havent eated for weeks aswell..
