Broad day light video taken with my new Creative Vado HD 3rd Third Generation. Video was taken midday, no editing whatsoever.

I noticed that the colors are generally very vibrant, but it seems like everything has a bit of a purplish color. It could be that my white balance was off, but if you look at the sky in almost any part of the video it appears to be too purple.

There is a lot of shakiness in the video, despite my efforts to keep the camera as steady as possible in my hands. This is a very common problem with shoot and share HD cameras since you have such a small camera with a small lens shooting high resolution. Unfortunately the small screen on these cameras makes it hard to tell just how shaky the video is while you're recording, so you may not realize just how bad it is until you're playing it back on your computer.

  • i have a problem if i upload a vid from my vado hd its not 720p on youtube

  • @degrommeisterug Hmm maybe it was still processing when you first uploaded it? Usually it takes a couple hours after upload (depending on the file size) for it to finish processing and display the HD option.

    Hope this helps! :)

  • did u use tripod or only your hand?

  • @lullaby1004 No tripod, and without leaning on anything. I just held it in my hand and used my other hand to brace it. Thanks for your comment! :)

  • that's a lot of mowing you got there :D

  • @Terry5135 Yeah, I am definitely VERY happy with it and will upload some videos within the next days (if I get my editing finished eventually). Even though it records only at a maximum of 720p, the quality is awesome and you can adjest EVERYTHING manually (like whitebalance, focus,... just everyting). But from the fancy features list it is not that great... the follow up model has things like slow motion and stuff... but guess what, I just payed less then 50 Euros for it - see my video ;-)

  • @dummerbube I looked it up, Ahh, nice choice. It got some nice reviews. Looks like a much more serious camera. I don't recall what it cost, but it seems much more like a real camera you could do things with. Good luck with it! I look forward to your first video test on youtube.

  • @Terry5135 Thanks for the reply - in the meantime I got myself a Sanyo VPC-CG10 :-D

  • @dummerbube Yes, it has a "thread" for attaching it to a tripod. I don't know for sure, but I think it performs ok in relatively low lighting, like an interior with a 100 watt bulb - once it adjusts, probably best to locate it and then leave it in the same position. I believe it's low light performance is better when the subject is closer to the camera. Good for blogging and things - or vlogging, if you prefer. :)

  • Does it have a thread for putting it on a stand? How does it perform in lower light, lets say in an average sized room, lighted by only a 100W lightbulb?

Apart from that: Wow! This reall look like a place where living is nice. If there would be a creek nearby the house or a lake, this would be where I would want to be.

  • Nice property, I would love to live there! And since it has a hill in the backyard, you can go sledding during the winter! Nice vid

  • The Vado 1st gen is too yellowish specially when it’s sunny & the Vado 3rd gen is purplish/violet in color. I have a Sony Vegas 9 Pro video editor which can do the job of correcting the incorrect colors from the Vado video clips.
