This is the third part of the trilogy 'France' by Avenir deMonfred a French composer, who lived in the United States. This video is the result of a worn out private studio recording, that the great pianist Yuri Boukoff gave me a year before his death, in Paris.
He evidently loved the music, since his unique studio recording was worn from frequent playing, resulting in severe distortion of the sound in the first two parts of the suite.(France classique, France Romantique).
Yuri could not understand the decision of the record company, not to publish this beautiful very French composition.
I mastered the worn recording, and mixed it with a ratatouille of pieces of famous paintings, and I am presenting it to you knowing that Yuri would have been very happy knowing that this beautiful work was not lost.
It is dedicated to Evelyne and Yana Boukoff and the virtuoso English/French pianist Paul Davis who knows how to live..

  • Excellent ! I had never heard of Avenir deMonfred althought I thought I knew most of lesser known French composers !

  • Yuri Boukoff's friend, a French pianist composer of Russian origin, who died in New York. Yuri loved his music, and gave me this unpublished (!!!) private recording. He wrote a quatuor that could be played from end to beginning, as from beginning to end without difference, according to Evelyne Boukoff. Merci pour vos commentaires.

  • this music should be heard more often. C est tres joyeux comme les saint saens concertos. A Paris on devrait s on occuper un peu plus de cette musique.... cela donne envie de l apprendre........

  • beautiful piece

  • Really enjoyable & crisply played period piece. Wonderful that a great & serious pianist could "let his hair down" in this jaunty ride, sounding like a gallic Grainger. As ever, stimulating and well-assorted artwork makes this as good looking as it's good listening. Completely unknown to me til now, thanks, Steve, for the discovery!

  • thanks for posting this wonderful recording.

I had a Boukoff recording of Beethoven Sonata in F# Major. Excellent.
