The timing is insane, there is no need to talk about the footwork cause he has the best footwork ever probably. The swing technique is flawless, I mean sometimes it just looks not fair how good this guy is. This footage is from the Australian open 2006. and at the time he was at his peak, he was almost unbeatable...

It seems to be an hybrid between Eastern and Semi. In all case, it's not perfectly centered on the bevel.
You cannot tell often at 100% where Federer places his hand.

This is actually what makes his aiming so good. Who cares about seeing the ball before landing? You know where it is because you felt it, not because you see it.
But this feeling, it cannot be thought; you need to hit balls over and over.
