An animated recreation of the first moon landing to celebrate the 40th anniversary of that event. The animation depicts Neil Armstrong's first step on the moon and was created in-house by Swinburne Astronomy Productions.

For Professor Matthew Bailes, the recreation exceeded his expectations. If the Moon landing had occurred in 2009, not 1969, this superb high definition video would be what people would be seeing in their lounge rooms instead of the blurry image I remember seeing as a child."

  • Awsome textures and rendering. What software was this created on? A technical note, the sun should be shining from the other side. Neil should be in shadow. Hope to see more, keep up the good work, whoever created this! (Credits would have been nice)

  • Giving the students and staff that created this proper credit would be a considerate addition.

  • Unfortunately, you forgot to render the TV camera atached to the module's side. Many people ask "who filmed the first step", and you missed a precious opportunity to show how it was done.

    However, it's an impressive recreation!
