Hi Rock Fans!

This is it. My journey continues through the kick-ass tunes off of Sevendust's
new record: Cold Day Memory.

If you haven't gotten it yet, what are you waiting for? This music is incredibly amazing.
Tons of soul, passion, aggression-- it's all in there.

Go pick up the new record on iTunes if you haven't already:

This is my version of Splinter, a head-banger's paradise of a tune.
Guitarist Notes:
- I think my low B String was a little out of tune when I down-picked, maybe. ;)
- The intro harmony was very hard for me to work out with a whammy, and/or my Boss PS-5 so I just picked one of the parts and played that.

This cover is dedicated to Clint, John, LJ, Vinnie and Morgan:

Guys, Thanks for making music that moves me.

Enjoy,

Gary Noon

I recorded this cover using:
Tuning - Drop B (B F# B E G# C#)
PRS SC250 Jet Black w/Gold Hardware
(with SC 250 pickups and locking tuners)
SIT Guitar Strings (.13 - .62 - Custom Set)
Diezel Herbert (Channel 2 - I dropped the Master Deep control to about 10'oclock )
RJM RG-16 Switcher
Voodoo Lab Ground Control Pro
Radial ToneBone SwitchBone
Digitech Whammy (set to harmony, 1 octave up/1 octave down)

  • BADASS SONG

  • @proshooter777 Agreed!

  • What tuning are they usin on this album? It sounds lower than drop B

  • @MrCaptaincrimson Hi Dude. It truly depends on the song. I've covered 5 tracks off the new record and I've listed the tunings in the notes. But, here they are:

    Karma - Double Drop B (B F# B E G# B)

    Splinter - Drop B (B F# B E G# C#)

The End is Coming - B-F#-B-E-F#-B

    Forever - Drop A# Tuning ( A#, F, A#, D#, G, C )

    Better Place - Drop B (B F# B E G# C#)

I haven't tried any of the others yet, but I'm sure it will run the gamut.

    - G
