  • This is the best "old school" RPG of all time. I still play it frequently.

Have you ever played the computer version? If you don't know already, PoR was just the first installment in a four-part series.

  • Thanks a lt for commenting ^_^

Yes, I do own the PC version but the CD I got it on got broke but it was a great port of it. The only thing I hated about the PC version was that it was too hard. I couldn't even get past the slums because of its difficulty. But I have posted the music to this so if you want to listen to the songs then they are here. Although there's a song I found that I never heard in the game before. But this is my #1 game. 1st game I ever played and its my favorite.

  • If you want, you could get a copy of "Gamefest: Forgotten Realms". It's got the whole PoR series, the Eye of the Beholder series, and a bunch of other goodies.

I think you could change the difficulty in PoR, but I'm not certain.

By the way, do you realize Pool of Radiance was originally released on DOS six years before you were born? ;)

  • That's it! That's the disc I used to have that broke. And no you can't change the difficulty. I have done playthroughs of the EotB trilogy. But for the disc, oh well, I can download the games again from XTCAbandonware. I also bought Dungeon Hack CIB (It was on my disc). It was only $3 but it had everything. And for the four parts, I know CotAB Came out. It was going to come out for the NES but they rejected it. Guess that one part of the game was useless (The end where you get transfer codes).

  • This was a difficult game for me to even start. You spend more time reading scripts and selecting things than actually playing.

  • This game was really great for me as a kid. Never could beat it though :( Only having four characters was the best way...... and never never any NPC's.

  • @EnviousDominous yeah the C64 version was the same way but it was a bit of a trade off as the C64 version was one of the few that had music for this game

  • I remember playing this on the Apple having to keep switching 5 1/4 " disks when I want into a different area, it kind of added to the suspense.

  • Keep em coming. :)
