From my audio collection, this is a Radio Jingles Sales Package production by TM Studios of Dallas from 1975 (formerly TM Productions).

Part 2 of 3, this is TM's "You" image campaign which was used on RKO-General Top-40 radio stations in the mid-1970's.

  • What knid of music was played on 93KHJ? (AM 930)

Can U help me out here?

  • @oscarflores1980 - I think all the big RKO General stations were playing the same format at that time. The Boston version of KHJ, 68-WRKO played kind of a Top-40 playlist, which mixed a lot of new hits of different types like Aerosmith, Olivia Newton-John, Neil Sedaka, Led Zeppelin, Elton John, Jim Croce, Mini Ripperton, Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Earth Wind + Fire, Barry White, Carpenters, Doobie Brothers, Kiss, 10CC, Gordon Lightfoot, Rick Derringer, Stevie Wonder, Wild Cherry, etc. etc..

  • @MSTS1 - , along with re-made movie/TV themes like Star Wars, Rockford Files, Exorcist (Tubular Bells), Convoy, Theme from 2001, and novelties like Mr. Jaws, Energy Crisis '74, and Monster Mash re-issue. And even Disco Duck (ouch!)

  • congratulations for posting the greatest jingle package ever heard before 75 or after. this campaign should be in the radio hall of fame take a listen you'll see why. They don't do these like this any more.

  • I agree with that; I remember some of these cuts first-hand on-air from '75 and after, as Boston-versions.

Instead of 93-KHJ, the ID's were sung: 'You and- 68-RKO'.

  • This is a pretty clean copy, but does anyone have a non-compressed version, preferably a WAV file version, 1st generation dub?

  • @MSTS1 Oh cool! But 2 bad most of the good music that was played on the radio is now shifted overseas.

  • Syndicated in 1976 for the UK station Beacon Radio which was programmed around the American Billboard Hot 100 chart - "We do it for you on Beacon 303".

Google Beacon Radio 303 to hear them.

  • I remember these jingles. But by 1975 I had moved for the most part away from AM radio. In late 1973 I moved mainly to FM-93, KNX-FM, an adult comtemporary station along with a couple of FM stations. I simply got tired of the AM DJs interrupting a song before it could start and finish. It was ridiculous, so I just got fed up and moved. In '73 I was 14 years old and when I found KNX-FM I felt that I was right a home. I miss that station even today.
