I love Apple, but I'd be really pissed if some jerk turned one of the most important days of MY life into a fucking advertisement for his company.

Lame, lame, lame.

I would look at it as a continuation of how to be successful: it's just good business. I would have been disappointed if he hadn't trumpeted his business. Afterall, going to school is not just for academics, but to prepare US to be the next great leaders of everything, including business. Had he been a poet, I would have expected a poem.......but a businessman......well, he did good!!!

Mr. Sigman talked about how he went from being born in a small West Texas town to being the CEO of a large company and a part of a cool new product launch. That with a good education in America, anything is possible.

He returned home as a man who "made good" and he's proud of his most recent accomplishment. I don't see anything wrong with that.

It's far more interesting that he and Steve Jobs sealed the iPhone deal with a handshake - more West Texas values he discusses in his address.

I love Apple, but to dedicate a graduation ceremony to any consumer product, some line somewhere is being crossed...

This is a 1:18 snippet of a 26 minute address. I invite you to visit the WTAMU website to hear his entire address.

I posted this video as an excerpt because I thought that most people would be more interested in the iPhone than in the rest of the address. If you're going to unfairly critize Mr. Sigman, at least listen to the entire address first.

Like many Apple junkies, I was glad to see a unit in the wild. I'd love to see an interview with the President to see how he likes it so far. But, Sigman's presentation came across as more of a sales pitch than a presentation of a token of his appreciation. Thank you for posting the video.
