karate is very sadistic in teaching the students, i noticed that wen i trained

@epic0wnag Your 4th jkd dude saying that toward karate..

From what i heard ; in India there was an ancient art whereby the practitioners practiced an old form of iron shirt and iron body and the warriors were known to be able to punch through plates of steel. Europeans have been seasoning their fists since ancient times too. Its not a singular thing as its rather common throughout the martial arts world and history.

the dude at the top right corner at 9:21 is my sensei's american sensei, i met him he's a cool guy

how come no one talks about shohei-ryu?? lol

i feel like if the big karate guy understood some jeet kune do concepts then his sparring would go a long way

There is also another saying: "There is no first strike in Karate". This seems to be lost within the philosophy of Westernized Karate-do.Take a look at the Pinan Katas for instance. They were almost all blocking techniques. Example...The Shuto were changed from an uke to an uchi...Not that this is wrong, just not in line with the original passive mind set.

@wizard86 I like that answer. I'm on the "fluffy" side my self. well over 30 years of Karate training, never kept me thin. Genetics mostly, power lifting as well. I'm also Asian/Japanese; some of us are just thickly built...I can run an < 6 minute mile...and I'm almost 50...I'm exhausted after though and need a nap after..LOL...Old age I guess prevents my rapid recovery. I'm not 14 any more :)

@jeetkunedo96 Sure......Perhaps the problem isn't the art.......
Well, there may be several reasons why he is on the fat side. Maybe he has a sickness or his body type prevents him from losing as much as he would like. Hell, my lieutenant in the army was a fat little guy, yet he could outrun all of us slimmer and fit guys. You don't know him and can not judge his true abilities from this little demonstrative clip from 9 years back.

Thanks (-: I was planning on upping these for a long time. I'll have a link up in the description for the whole AVI file within a day or so.
