  • I like seeing paintings that are ready to hang but not framed. When you make a decision to frame a painting it contains the pictorial space to some extent. Being unframed, the image is free to breathe and radiate. It really depends on the nature of the painting whether to frame it or not.

  • @strattanpossum Agreed. I've framed many in the past. It takes a huge amount of energy and time to build from scratch. Usually, I would place them in a sub-frame, or what might become and "interior" border frame that loses a minimal amount of picture "edge". But nowadays I'd prefer the buyers to take care of that, match their household or something.
