Today while operating portable from Fairbain park in Ascot Vale, I was lucky enough to have a chat to Peter VK3YE while he was operating portable 5 watt QRP pedestrian HF from Chelsea Beach in Melbourne. Peter was using his home made magnetic loop antenna. For more details on Peter's pedestrian QRP Amateur Radio check out his YouTube channel called "VK3YE".

  • Thanks for the chat Craig & Steve and sounded like you had fun at Ascot Vale. Just looking at the map, the straight line between appears to be right up Nepean Hwy. 73, Peter

  • @vk3ye Oh ok! Our voices were doing 300,000km a second up the freeway! We both got away with that without getting a ticket! :-) Regards, Craig VK3CRG

  • Awesome video Craig. The 706s are a pleasure to use portable. I have one along with my TS-120S and the thing just works.

Hope to catch you guys on the air some time! 73s
