You could get a better shot just green screening it. The actors slow mo sped up doesn't look natural.

How to do this effect that I've seen used in many films, where the foreground seems to be rushing forward while the background recedes further into the distance/horizon?

Usually referred to as a Zolly Shot, this technique is surprisingly easy to do (but takes some practice to master). Check out our video "Handheld Video Camera Shooting Tips" for an explanation on how to achieve it. Cheers.
