Yes!  You brought to light the association of the black male vote and the later vote for women. Seriously, not a lot of people connect those and the emphasis to , "...get Sambo to vote." That's where Sojourner Truth was particularly effective in rallying support for citizenship and suffrage for black men.

I'm particularly glad to see that you had taken the time to research the quote with which you were shocked, rather than simply form an instant reaction.

@MainStreetMonochrome Her "concern" was rooted in racism. You are aware of the predominate view of Black people at that time, yes? You should be considering you seem to subscribe to it.

As for "ignorant" voters, since this country's inception, millions upon millions of White people have elected ineffectual White, mostly male, politicians merely because they are White. You are either ignorant or wildly delusional if you think otherwise. Smell that? Your comment reeks of White Privilege.

You really could have saved yourself a few keystrokes by simply typing: I support inequality, preferably subtle, systematic discrimination in the form of voter disenfranchisement. I'm glad that my branding as a crochet expert has been effective, but there are already other crochet tutorials on youtube. Somebody must have made some good ones. I'm not sure I'd be good at it. The one person I tried to show in real life was having a hard time with it, until Melinda came along and did a better job of teaching it. It would be even harder to teach on camera. But search for some tutorial videos and give it a try. It's cheap and fun!
