Social media arbitrage | Dominate And Control Your Niche Market

Attempting to profit by exploiting price differences of identical or similar financial instruments, on different markets or in different forms. The ideal version is risk-less arbitrage.

The above statement sums up the definition of arbitrage. In our instance, social media arbitrage is more or less leveraging on others efforts for our benefit, our examples in this case is exploiting web properties rather than financial investments.

When we look at marketing, in general there is the use of arbitrage everywhere. We are all trying to leverage on the efforts of others by gaining the attention of their success or marketing efforts so we can benefit with a minimum cost and risk. We see the use of arbitrage all over the internet when it comes to advertising; we see image ads on other people's web sites redirecting to other sites, the use of article marketing again redirecting traffic, buying AdWords "keywords" in markets to gain exposure and promote your site, etc.

Buying your positioning in the internet space can be quite expensive and even risky at times, if we are not sure what we are doing. With that in mind, there has been a shift from paid traffic efforts to people and companies enhancing their natural search campaigns in the internet space. Web site owners work hard to position their sites on page one of the search engines for their most relevant searched keywords, hoping to catch some organic traffic at a minimum risk.

If you have tried to position your sites for certain keywords and keyword phrases you may have found out this can be a challenging task and in some cases impossible depending on the niche you are in. Dominating the search engines is difficult, expensive and time consuming; I know this because I play in this organic search game.

My name is Jan Hrkach; I am CEO of a nutrition company, True Healthy Products. When I started this company, we relied 98% on buying media to drive traffic for product awareness and to create buyers. We used a unique system to drive traffic from high profile sites to articles then redirected them to our sites. This was a high traffic volume model that worked well until the cost of media made it unaffordable to continue. After enough high profile companies found out about this model, they pushed the price of advertising too high for the "small guy" me as an example and I had to retire this way of marketing exposure.

So moving forward I turned my efforts to search. I spent my time, money and efforts to creating inertia for my company though (SEO) search engine optimization. I started increasing my footprint and building my sites into authority sites, all of which the search engines liked and would rank high for the long-term pay off. By doing this and keeping in good practices, mainly with Google, they have graced me with good rankings and now I rely on 89% of my traffic from search, a 180-degree turn for me in traffic generation.

So what is this arbitrage thing?? With having my authority sites bringing me traffic I decided to build a large network of sites, "blogs", the type of sites search engines like to rank if they are full of content and meet the criteria of a valuable relevant site. The initial reason for the network of sites was having a tool to place articles on to point relevant back links to my larger sites for (SEO) search positioning. If you are not aware, having good relevant content linking back to your site is a good thing for search positioning; in fact, it is the main component of search marketing.

This strategy has paid off; I now have 170 and growing well ranking blogs at my service to use as I wish. This is a powerful tool as you will see in the examples on this site and this is where the arbitrage method comes into play.

Ways to Use Social Media Arbitrage

-Test a market to see if there is valuable traffic there in natural search without paying for the
click or banner advertising.

-Dominate a niche market to bring you new qualified customers to your site in the short-term and
even long-term, again not paying click charges.

-Dominate a niche market for branding and authority to get your message out in a competitive
market and solicit other potential clients.

-Remove bad reviews to protect your company or business if there are other arbitrage efforts
going on in you niche that may effect you brand.

Let's look at some real video examples of arbitrage. I have implemented and in some cases have been able to dominate a niche market in a few hours. These strategies are powerful and have proven to be valuable in my overall efforts to increase my leverage in the internet space.
