My name is Alejandro Ponti, I'm a Florida National College student, and this is the assignment video presentation "HOW TO". In this case I will explain the technique of How To Wash Your Hands Effectively.

Everybody knows about hand washing but do they know how meaningful it is to do it in the correct way? This is the most important way to prevent the spread of diseases reducing bacteria on the skin.

Wash your hands before and after handling food, using the bathroom, and or putting gloves. Do it after contact with any body fluid, contaminated items, handling garbage or waste, collecting anything from the floor, or smoking.

Supplies you'll need:

• Hot water
• Soap
• Paper towels

To start, get a paper towel to turn on the hot and cold water. Adjust the temperature using the paper towel to touch or open the faucets and discharge it.
Then, fold your arms down holding hands below the elbows. Wet your hands and wrists perfectly in slow motion one by one.
Next, soap the hands well with liquid soap from dispenser.
Now place your hands in the sink, rub and wring them against each other, until you build up a good lather for at least 15 seconds, including lacing, pressing, and wringing hands and fingers together. Take your time don't rush. Make sure that all germs are loosened and are down the drain before you stop washing.
As well clean your nails by rubbing them in the palm of your hand.
Also clean the wrists in a circular motion, rubbing with your other hand.
After these steps, rinse all surfaces of wrist, hands and fingers, keeping your hands below your elbows and fingertips down.
Subsequent, use a new paper towel to wipe and dry all surfaces, hands, wrist and fingers. Reach for another paper towel to turn off the faucets
Finally, discharge the paper towel and if you need to touch the door Knob, use another one to protect yourself of contamination.



Ordinarily one would wait until hands are dried thoroughly before turning off the faucet but conserving water is important too, so lets be practical. In your home "you will be able to wash the faucet handle as you wash your hands and turning off the faucet with your wet hands. But in hospitals, clinics, or health centers you don't want to touch the faucet handle or door knob with your hands.

Extra Tips:

Keep your hands away from your face. This is another bad habit we often do. When we have nothing better to do with our hands we often place them on our chin, touch our wrinkles, our acne, and when no one is looking often picking our nose. This is giving the germs a leg up on infecting you with all kinds of air contact diseases. Break away from this habit.

Clean hands means not sneezing into your hands. The accepted way until recently, has been to double up your fist and place it against your nose and sneeze. While this protects your neighbor from a shower of germs, it deposits them on your hands. From there to your plate, your neighbors hands when greeting them, or your own door knobs at home. Get into the habit of sneezing into a tissue and when none are available, sneeze into your elbow. It certainly is better to get germs on that pretty shirt or blouse, or even on you coat than on your hands.
