What is that space vehicle that kept sending green dots down on the car in the first race, I thought at first it was trying to snatch the car off the course, somehow that doesn't happen so I couldn't figure that out?

Good question. That is the pit lane. The craft hovering over head is repairing the Blue Falcon.
