NIGELLA LAWSON/Forever Summer/YELLOW1
In this episode, Nigella turns her culinary attention to the apparently humble lemon: "Lemons are like the salt of the fruit world; you use them without thinking and yet what they do is utterly transformational."

First on the menu is Happiness Soup, made with lemons and yellow courgettes, followed by Slow-Roasted Garlic And Lemon Chicken. But that's only the beginning of what you can do with the fruit: there's the Lemon Drop "the instant liquid hit of summer" made with lemon liqueur, Lemony Prawn Salad, Lemon Salad With Cold Roast Beef and Lemon Salsa With Sardines.

Next are Crispy Lamb Chops and a delicious picnic menu: "I'm not a girl for a picnic.....I mean why?," says Nigella. "But much as I hate picnics, I love picnic food. It contains everything that's best about eating - informality, lack of cutlery, lack of portion control. And really why it's perfect for me is that it's about as far as you can get from fancy restaurant cooking."

Finally there's just time for the supremely summery Caramelised Pineapple with Malibu Chocolate Sauce, cooked on the barbecue. The perfect indulgent way to end a summer meal.

  • Respond to this video... It is a Zucchini. We call both the green and yellow ones courgettes- the french word for them.

  • @szqsk8 Courgette is a zucchini. It's the french word- since they are not native to the UK we use the french.

  • @szqsk8 it's the little yellow squash, about the same size as zucchini. Brits call them courgettes, not sure how that came about.

  • @abomierick tea has nothing to do with it. genetics
