Should you prove me wrong, I reserve the right to change my mind.) The Worlds most popular woodworking machine, namely the table saw which is potentially the most dangerous to operate with certain fear factors, now there is close up details of how to safeguard your fingers and preventing most kick-backs by investigating the innovative Jimmy Jig technology designed, patented and used for a lifetime by a Carpenter/Joiner/Cabinetmaker

  • Seumas thinks your experience with a table saw is nil, if you think a push stick will prevent a kick back you are very much mistaken, these additions are anti-kick back devices, the fence is fixed to a sliding platform that does not deviate from the parallel, the fence is always parallel with the blade, walk away from a half completed cut, return, it will still be in the exact position you left it, the anti-kick-back devices hold it steadfast. Yes the bar makes sence

  • all these things are very elaborite anti kickback devices, but i doubt their effective ness. the last thing you want is more things in your way and causing friction. Just use a push stick and the worst thing that could happen is you get hit with the material, but you still got your fingers. He calls all his things the original jimmy jig, so what one is the original original jimmy jig.

  • That is why they are called anti-kick back devices, yes very effective, never had a kick back in over 30 years of using these devices. The original jimmy jig is the sliding platform and the stationary fence

  • There is no friction because the fence is always parallel with the blade, when the fence deviates from the parallel this is the main reason for kick back

  • Pretty strange setup. Changing your grip as you have to reach over the steel pipe.

  • That is the reason for anti-kickback devices, they hold the material stead fast while you change your grip, all up frot of the cutting tool not behind, slainte mhath macduff, alba gu brath

  • Tthe guy using it doesnt seem to like using pushsticks

And thats a major contributing factor in sawbench accidents

I cant see any 'safety' in this ,its nothing more than an over-elaborate feather board

I think you would have been better fitting a powerfeed to the bench

and a little bar is not going to stop hand/blade contact
