@pattyshutz no whiteout whatsoever... Just take a q tip, dip it in rubbing alcohol (99% proof) and stick it up the headphone jack. It should fix it.

Dude this guy is legit. Since I'm a guy, I didn't gave nail polish, I just shoved an alcohol wipe up the headphone jack and squeezed it in there with an auxiliary cord. After about a minute, I plugged it in to iTunes and it came up w/ dead battery sign. I let it charge,restored, and it works fine now!

Okay i tried this...but my ipod touch was alittle differen...i dropped it in my dish water and...afterwards i blow dried it and put it in a bag of rice...and then i tried the nail polish remover thing..and before my ipod..the backlight was soo dark..and i could really touch anything...and today the backlight started working again..but i still can't taouch :( what do i do?

Hope mine works! Fell out of my pocket into the toilet like 2 months ago :( let it dry out havnt touched it for 2 months, tried charging it but it just wont charge, so just tried this going to try charging it in a few hours :) Fingers crossed :)
