The Gentleman Gamer: Pathfinder RPG Review

In which the gentleman in question delivers his long-awaited review of the Pathfinder RPG, published by Paizo! Pathfinder is a game not too dissimilar to D&D, in that it's almost exactly the same. Despite the similarities however, it has a number of differences too, and is, in my opinion, an excellent RPG. Watch on, and find out why.

I love pathfinder, one thing my friend noticed recently, It never actually says when you get feats.

I just got the book a few days ago, and I must say, I am heavily enjoying the touch ups they have done to the game.

Pathfinder is the real 4th edition Dungeons and Dragons imo.

The WotC version just doesn't feel like D&D anymore.

Great review! I went from 2nd edition AD&D to 4E. I played 4E for about a year but after the D&D nostalgia wore off I felt something was missing. I picked up Pathfinder and never looked back. It is of course different from 2E, however, it felt similar in spirit. 4E always felt like a different game, not necessarily bad, just not D&D.

@Antiks72 Well, first WotC has asked for *gasp!* player input for the 5th edition. Not just that, but they say they will actually listen to the players this time. And most recently they have re-released the 1E books to try to woo TSR fans over to WotC. Personally I think the 5E is going to be a flop because the writers of today are even more arrogant than TSR was and it will end up an abomination of the worst of 1E, 2E, 3.x, and 4E.

Just played pathfinder for the first time about 2 weeks ago... created a half elf barbarian, hacked some monsters to bits, havent looked back. Great game.
