Thanks LoneMyth - I have the book with the poem of the Battle of Maldon but I never knew it was such a massive fight of two armies - the poem is very much talking in terms of small shield walls & teams of men or individual soldiers views - I suppose that is very realistic as in a fight you can only account for your own actions - its good that this documentary backs up the context of the poem.

life,drink, rape, pillage, loot , sack , burn, steal, kill and die bravely

Islam causes war today, but NO other religion on the planet does."religion" is general while "islam" is specific.Islam is a militant religion and the only one like that.As a christian, I don't like that many christians are assholes by character, but being a fan doesn't make them followers for christ, which is where the name "christianity" comes from.It's not religion that causes war, but politics.Take your pick, religious people as a whole don't start wars.
